If I’m interested in a woman who I’ve known for half a year, should I ask what her personal situation is? Should I ask if she is single? Or should I just ask her if she wants to go places (like dates) with me?
The person I’m thinking of is a former colleague/supervisor, older than me by maybe 6-8 years (early or middle 30-something I think but I don’t know she could be 40. I’m 20-something) and Spanish/French (so maybe different from American women?). She’s pretty and it makes me wonder if she’s seeing somebody or why she’s not. I’ve never seen her with a guy or mention one. We’ve gone out as friends (not one on one but with a group) a few times and a couple times to swimming and the beach. I like her as a friend, but I wonder if she’d be interested in me. If I ask her about her situation, that makes it clear that I’m interested in her, right?
The quickest way to find out, imho, is to ask if she’d be interested in having dinner with you, perhaps a show, whatever. Make it clear it’s a date…
